Mac’s are always incredibely overpriced. If you look at the specs on both the laptops, the Toshiba has much better specs: 4 gigs of RAM instead of 2 gigs, 400 gigs of hard drive space instead of 250, a 17 inch screen instead of a 15.4 inch, and the processor is pretty much the same (you won’t notice the difference).
The only reason to buy a Mac is if you are a heavy video editor or picture editor (I’m talking Photoshop enthusiasts here). Otherwise, a PC is always the more logical choice.
People will argue that PC’s have more viruses, but anyone with half a brain knows how to avoid viruses on a computer. Viruses were only threatening in the 90′s. They’re old news now. Just buy a decent anti-virus program and don’t do anything stupid.
You will save SO much money if you go with the PC. Here’s the thing,
when you buy a Mac, you’re paying about $500 or more just for the picture of an apple on it. Nothing about a Mac is better than a PC (with the same specs). I’m gonna get a lot of angry answerers now, but it’s true.
You probably saw the Toshiba comes with Vista Premium and you got scared. Vista is not bad at all. All the things that were wrong with it are fixed now because of Service Pack 1. Also, anyone who buys a Vista machine now will get a very large discount when Windows 7 is released at the end of this year.
yes, for what is going to be going on with the laptop, I’d say you will get your money out of it. pls there are alot less hassles involved with mac sin general. not to say they are wihtout faults, but it is a safer bet than many other companies.
Also the macs are no longer that different than pcs, it will take a little getting used to, but all here old things like printer scanners and cameras will be fine in the tranisiton.
You should know there is no special folden egg, all computers have flaws and no one model is perfect. If you want to buy a computer with less probability of breaking down, buy a mac. iff you go with anyhting that is a pc, then it doesn’t matter what comany you go with, except for maybe ASUS. they make all the high end parts for all the other big name maufactuers and they sell bette laptops fo the money. just make sure that you get a free AVG antivirus and have it automatically do it’s updates. this will prevent viruses fomr infecitntg pretty much any computer.
And the place to find more about ASUS? well http://www.newegg.com will help
hope this helps
Toshiba is really horrible. If I were you, I’d get that MacBook Pro. It’s well worth it!
