Buying a used Apple laptop…How old is too old to bother getting?

I saw an Apple laptop at a 2nd hand store. I don’t know how old it is, or anything else about it. I’ve never used an Apple before. What should I look for?

I would not pay money to buy anything more than 2 years old, ant at two years its getting on the weak side. if your looking for a study/internet machine anything after 04 is gonna be GREAT for it. if your a gamer go current all the way nothing before 07
