My private high school requires every student buy an Apple laptop which has MAC OS X in it. However, I’m not used to using Mac OS, and I intend to install XP on the laptop.
So is that possible that I can use parallel window XP and Mac OS X on Apple laptop ?? (Obviously, those operating system will be on different partitions).
I haven’t received my laptop yet, but I just want to know for sure that I can do it.
Thank you for your help.

you can if you bought an intel macintosh. If you bought an old mac off of ebay or something with a g4 or g3 processor in it then you’ll have to get used to OS X. If you bought it directly from apple, then it should be a new one and you should be able to do so. I think (though I’m not completely sure, being that I just use OS X) that what you’ve got to do is create the partition and then put the expee disk in. then reboot while holding down the "c" key. though it might just pop up with the installer when you put in the disk. It should boot from the disk though if you put it in and hold the "c" key when you reboot. As far as parallels, that’s a program that doesn’t come with a mac, it’s a completely different company. If you buy it though, you can run expee alongside mac. I think it’s $80 or something outrageous like that, though you can sometimes get it cheaper. It goes on sale on different websites and in different stores at times. If you don’t buy that though you’re going to have to download bootcamp from the Apple site. It’s free so that’s the upside. The downside is that instead of running it alongside OS X, your Mac just reboots into expee. Also, it’s still in the beta form, so it’s still probably got a few mistakes somewhere. Hope all of this helps.
I see no problem, if u setup it on new partition
