It’s a little complicated. I’ll answer the last question first: The most recent Mac operating system is OS X 5, or "Leopard." But that won’t help you, because it’s illegal to run Mac software on hardware not made by Apple.
If legality doesn’t bother you, you have two options.
The first option is to follow the instructions at http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2008/10/osx-leopard-1055-on-pc.html to install OSx86. The current version of OSx86 is like Leopard with the legal bits cut off, and it’s free. Unfortunately, you have to wipe your hard drive to do this. Also, there are no warrantees on illegal stuff. If it breaks, you’re screwed.
The second option is to install a hardware emulator (a program that makes your Windows hardware look like Mac hardware to Mac software) and then install a copy of OS X on the emulator. With this method, you use Windows most of the time and only open the fake Mac when you need to. Go here http://www.macwindows.com/emulator.html#Maconother for more information on that. You’ll see after a quick read-through that none of them are very good or very reliable. Also, you’d better find a computer geek to install it for you.
It’s a very unfortunate situation because Macs can easily run Windows software through legal emulation programs like Parallels. My advice is, sell the Vista laptop and buy a refurbished Mac.
i dont think itd be compatible
No, Apple doesn’t allow it. They don’t want people installing their operating system on non-mac computers.
No, there is no software, however what software is it? There is probably an app (even freeware) that will do the same thing the wanted software does.
No, The Mac uses a data based operating system (OS) and Xp and older versions of Windows use a file based OS. While Vista Uses A Hybrid data/file based system. The registry is a characteristic of the file based OS and Therefore has no registry entries for PC…Rumors are that the new Windows 7 is an all data based OS and the beta is already available for PC but the full version is due out in late January. webmaster@freestuff2do.com
