All my life I've been a PC user. My laptop is getting old and I need to buy a new one. I'm tired of all the virus, worms and blue screens of death, plus I really like some of the software that mac computers use. I've considered buying a mac. If you're one of the people that has switched to mac, did you regret it? Was it hard to get used to it?

Hey! Can you please tell me whether it's any use buying a Mac over a Win PC laptop for a student about to start college in a Graduate course of Electrical & Electronics OR Computer Engineering?
I'll be mainly using it for preparing assignments, internet surfing and maybe playing games (not those demanding extremely high resources)
Oh yeah! I am comfortable with Win XP as such, have been using Windows for like 12 years i think.....but i am prepared to try Mac too! (+ i can use the Apple boot camp to run windows anyway)
Does Mac have any advantages? Does it make work any easier?
I understand it costs more...so consider only the models available at a price below , 00 or 00...
Please tell me what you think...Best answer if u convince me with your view!
Thanx in advance!

I purchased my iMac a year ago and for the past year I feel going with a laptop would have been a better decision. Is there a way I could buy a brand new Mac laptop by trading or selling my mildly used iMac?

I have a wireless network, and all the computers using it are PC's. Recently, however, I bought a Mac laptop. This laptop can see the network, but won't connect to it. I think the problem is that the laptop's IP address can't be seen by the router. Can I add it manually? How so?

I have had two used laptops recently which I bought, used from a person I dont know.
I am being stalked on the internet by a couple of internet savvy guys and I am wondering if they did something to disable my laptops. Can they do that? They have told me they can access my IP address.
Question: Can they hack and destroy my computer?

Just for me to get away from having to use the family computer. So I can surf the net and do homework without being bothered. Speed is pretty important and I hear macs get less viruses than computers with windows platforms.

I don't use my computer for serious gaming, but I would very much like the thing to be fast and not to hang up when I inadvertently have four or five programs running simultaneously. Right now, the new Mac Book I'd like would run nearly 00, while one could get a pretty sweet i-Book for around half that price. (p.s. I think the first Intel-based Mac Books are shipping this week, so maybe someone with the desktop model could weigh in?) Thank you VERY much for your help.

I really want a Mac Laptop. I was wondering a couple of things. I am a student, and i would be using this laptop to help me with my homework.
Ok so i would have to buy Microsoft Office for Mac. Now, I currently have a computer that is Windows. Would I be able to (pay close attention here) write an essay on the microsoft office for mac, and put it on a flash drive, take it downstiars to my windows computer, and print it? Do you get what i'm asking? i want to make sure that i can do my work upstairs on the laptop and then be able to print it out on my printer downstairs. is there any other methods of doing this? would my laptop be able to connect to the printer downstairs even tho another computer is connected to it? as you can see, i am confused. please help.
i also want ot be able to write an essay on the laprop, and bring it to school on a flash drive and print it out there (the computers are windows)

I've decided to buy a laptop, but haven't decided on which system I should run. I know it depends a lot on what I plan to use it for, and windows is a lot more widely used than mac (especially with schoolwork). And I'm also aware that macs (at least the ones I've seen) cost quite a bit more than a windows computer. One of the most important things I'm taking into consideration is the amount of viruses out there for windows computers, as opposed to only one for Mac computers (so I've heard). I don't need lots of fancy features, just basically something with a CD/DVD drive and USB ports. Your opinions and experience with either would be much appreciated, along with any advice you can offer. Thank you!

I'm going to buy a laptop and I'm seriously considering a mac. Opinions?
I've played around with a mac computer and LOVED it but I've never actually used a mac laptop.
I'm thinking of buying one on craigslist.

I'm planning to buy a new laptop since our old one's pretty slow now. I'm going to use the new one basically to do papers, studying, and research. But I'm also active in art and also planning to buy a new tablet and probably photoshop. And I'll also use the laptop for browsing the web.
So which laptop is better for school studies, art, and some hobbies?
I did some research on the mac, and heard that its good. I've been using a PC for a long time. The only time I've actually used a mac is in libraries or such, but the mac seems promising for someone like me. So, mac or PC?
