Do I have to buy a Dell battery for my Dell laptop?

I haven’t had this new battery for my laptop very long, about 7 months tops and it already sucks. I just unplugged my laptop from the charger and the battery life says I have 48 minutes left, when earlier it use to reach 2 hours. I have a Dell inspiron E1505 and was wondering if I had to get a Dell battery to go with the dell laptop or can I get a better battery?

You could get a third-party batter but you run into some risks. It is probably made to lower standards, could damage the laptop or cause a fire. Your best bet is an OEM battery; in other words, one from Dell.
See if the battery still has a warranty.
You can search on eBay and there are many options.
You may find a longer life batter that can help.
The key thing is if the batter doesn’t last much longer, at least you only paid $40 instead of $100.
Dell will not warrantee the computer with a 3rd party battery, so keep the old one incase you would need a repair.
I would go with a better battery that way you wont run into this situation a few months down the road. I would look on ebay or even if you go to like best buy or staples someone is bound to give you a few good suggestions on whats the best brand for the money. Just because it says Dell doesn’t mean its the best for the product.
Hey let me know if you were able to get a better battery, im having the same problem and have the same kind of laptop.
Thanks
