If you have a wireless capable DSL modem you prob wont need a router. It will depend on the typ of internet you have.
The Linksys Wireless G is a good router, $50 most places…….. Good luck with it.
Post back with the brand and model of your internet modem for more help
you will need a router, you can get different ones but so far i have found the best ones to bee
DLINK
NETGEAR,
if you are wanting to use the laptop in other places "not your home" then you can either look for a hotspot "a location where wifi is available" or just get a 3G Card
No you should be able to connect directly to an ISP.
It really depends on what type of modem you have… but generally, all modems (usb or network based) can be connected straight to your laptop.
You then just have to install a dial-up connection (again, depending on your internet provider/modem type)
Just visit the website of your current provider and look there for connection support (or call them, since you don’t have a live connection yet of course)
Hope this helps
it’s your own choice :
*. if you wanna access Internet all over your home throw your laptop you need router that supports wireless
*.you can directly connected with Internet throw (NIC) network interface card on your laptop via modem (wire)
*. the modem can be connected to laptop (USB) Universal serial Bus
yes if you are wireless or using ethernet, you can get a router for less than 50 dollars, Belkin, Buffalo etc
