Going to buy a laptop from dell should I go with Inspiron or lattitude?
Also, what are my must haves? I am going to use mainly for college, I'll probably use for storing pics from camera & misc. Not a gamer though, so I'm thinking I'd like at fast processor, but I never know which is good enough because they give you so many options. Any ideas would be apprieciated!
Thanks

Definitely an inspiron if you’re using it for college.
Low end versions (suitable for what you describe above):

Just upgrade to the price you want, whatever you buy will do what you want it to… if you want to watch a lot of movies you might want to upgrade your graphics card or if you want to have a lot of apps open you might want to upgrade the memory option.
for college, i would recommend the inspiron 1420, or 1520 with intel processors. Make sure u type in coupon codes to save money (just google "dell coupon codes" to get the latest ones for ur product. The 1420 is 14 inch and will be more portable, the 1520, is a 15inch. I would also strongly recommend the HP dv2500t for college
I wouln’t recommend dell they have hardware issues. I would definatly recommend an HP or a Sony Vio
Dell just came out with a new model the e1520 replacing the 1505. It is priced nicely. Get the top core 2 duo CPU, 2 GBs of RAM, and a dedicated Vid card. You could save some big bucks with the AMD Turion X2 1501 almost as good.
Truth be told Dell would be a ripoff parts and service wise. HP is much better in those areas. Apple is also good although a little hippy in my opinion.
A good company to consider is Carbonfrost Systems. I can speak from experience when I say they have the best warranty and service. They will literally build it to whatever you want while keeping the price low. They have computers in all price ranges so you should be able to find one.
They are launching their laptops in couple of weeks, and their computers are actually better than all of those specs for the computers you would see in Dell, HP, Acer etc and is cheaper while thier parts are all name brand parts. Just a little info for you.
They will have laptops in all price ranges with the best parts and service so you shouldn’t have a problem finding one that suits you the best.
The problem with Tablet PCs is that they are still in the novelty stage and it will be sometime befoer their functionality catches up with those of of a normal laptop.
