I had the same problem… blue screen. I sent it back TWICE. First time they said "oh yeah we can’t find anything wrong with it… booted just fine for me." Of course, that was in weird Indian accent so they may have said something totally different.
I took it to the local computer store and they told me the motherboard was bad. Dell said no way their diagnostics found nothing, but I sent it back to them again anyhow with the diagnosis from the local computer store. They sent it back and said (big suprise!) the motherboard was bad. They also sent a bill because my year warranty had expired 3 days earlier.
DO NOT BUY DELL!
You’ll probably just have to learn the hard way (I learned a $1,600 lesson) because they’re completely deaf to consumer complaints. I’d take it to a local computer store you can trust, rather than trying to deal with their foreigners on the customer service lines.
If it’s within their refund policy then I don’t see why you can’t return it for a full refund. They sent me two laptops instead of one and immediately refunded my money back when they received the other one back. Just make sure you have a tracking number when you mail it out and make sure you fill out the necessary refund information on the form that came with the laptop, but if I’m not mistaken call them to let them know it’s coming back so they can give you a contact person and customer order number attached to this issue. You’ll need that for them to process your return/refund.
This depends upon the sales agreement at the time you purchased the laptop. Most likely, Dell will try to sell you a more expensive one, but you can insist on the money back. Usually, Dell carry pretty good stuff. You may ask for more advanced model with the money (just another option).
i have a vostro 1000 and works perfectly and just recently ordered an insprion 1525. u can return it within 21 days after u buy it.
