my friend wants to sell me her macbook for 300. its a couple years old, and i think its in good condition. she only wants to get a new one because she wants a webcam. should i buy it, or find another used laptop online?

put the model number into ebay and do a search for "completed listings" – this will tell you what the average selling price for the specific model is. From there you can see objectively whether its good value for money or not.
check the quality of it, is it still comaptible with todays software, how long would it last if you buy it today
