Is there a law on returning and getting a refund for a used laptop that did not work eventually?

I bought a used HP laptop from a colleague. He could not access it for he forgot the password( it was his daughters). He said that I can ask someone to open it. A technician was able to open it, removing all files. The technician however found out that the laptop could not be upgraded for it was more than 10 years old and the screen was too small to work with.
The Laptop was sold for 0.00
Would the lemon law which includes household products(including computers) apply on this case?

While some new goods carry implied warranties, that does not apply to used goods. Next time, check it out before you buy, or, when negotiating the deal, get the seller to agree that he will take it back under specified conditions.
Pretty much on used product, what you see is what you get and you are stuck with it whether it works the way you want to or not.
good luck
Talk with your friend explain the problem now that it is open he may take it back if not you are out the investment. Sell to someone else, that doesn’t need to upgrade.
"buyer beware"
If you bought a 10 year old laptop, consider the $65 you spent on it a lesson learned, and set about getting a new(er) one.
