Mac Book or Windows?
I am about to get a laptop i beleive and i was wondering what everyones opinions were on Apple Mac Book. Or laptops with windows? Do you get what you pay for with the Mac Book? I have always used windows and liked windows but the Mac Book looks like it would be a great laptop. Also has anyone bought a Apple laptop off a sute that buys used ones tests everything in them and resells for a lot cheaper? And does the standard Mac Book come with a built in camera for iChat? Sorry for all the questions, thanks!

well u c i have both ans mac books are a lot more fun than windows, and they r both good but on macs u can do just about everything and it’s close on a pc or windows in ur terms but macs are with not a doubt cooler
I am a huge advocate of Mac, Apple, MacBooks, and everything associated with Steve Jobs and his wonderful creations.
You get what you pay for with a MacBook: a beautiful, fast, easy-to-use, virus-free, fun laptop.
I don’t know if I would buy them from a source that sells them cheaper. I would just worry about being scammed.
All Macbooks come with iChat and a built in iSight camera that can be used for iMovie, Photobooth, and of course iChat.
Hope that helps!
It depends greatly on what you need it for – but typically a PC is better.
Windows if you can secure it properly… but if your not so savvy then a mac book is worth it. Camera is built in.
Mac Book is far a more stable operating system and capable of any operation windows is.
I just went through this myself, and can proudly say that I am the owner of a MacBook. I would personally recommend a Mac, although if you have numerous programs that you need to use for work, make sure that there are Mac equivalents first.
Happy Hunting!
Hey, i would go for the macbook as mac osx is far more stable then windows and you will get better preformace out of it. If in the end you dont like mac, you can always install windows xp onto your macbook.
I bought a standard MacBook as my first laptop and I have never had any problems that couldn’t be fixed by either restarting or taking the battery out and then putting it back in, which I think is great given many of my friends have problems with their PC laptops. They are extremely user-friendly computers too! I bought mine in the Apple store, so I am not sure about the refurbished sites.
And yes, the standard MacBook comes with the built-in camera.
Isn’t that great?
Good luck; I would whole-heartedly recommend a MacBook.
Although Mac Books seem more costly than Windows Notebooks, they generally perform better. And yes, they have integrated webcams.
I recommend going for more recent Mac Books–those running on Intel processors, often dubbed the Intel Macs–that have MacOS X 10.5 (codename Leopard) pre-installed. These Intel Macs can also run Windows, and installing Windows on Leopard-running Intel Macs are relatively easy, thanks to Apple’s Bootcamp which is part of the OS.
In short, go for the most recent Mac Books.
You can buy refurbished macbooks directly from the apple website, they are thoroughly tested by apple techs and sold with the same warranty as new macbooks.I bought mine refurbished from apple and it has been trouble free for 4 months plus i saved 400 dollars. The only thing is that you don’t get a fancy new box ,it is sent in a plain brown apple box but for 400 dollars saved i can live with that. macs are the smart choice for today becuase windows vista is so unstable and you run the risk of some of your devices not being compatible with vista becuase they don’t have vista drivers. You definitely get what you pay for with a mac becuase if you compare the same pc laptop with similiar features its about the same. Eg pc with wireless n wifi, built in webcam, built in blue tooth, 6 hour batterylife, core 2 duo cpu chips, photo editing software, video editing software, music composing software, ichat software, ….etc . The trouble is people compare macbooks to your basic 500 laptop which don’t even come close to all the hardware and software a macbook has.If you really need to run a windows application you can install windows on a macbook with bootcamp so you have 2 operating systems. But once you get use to the mac os you don’t ever want to go back. If you have problems the mac techs at the apple store will be glad to help you, they gave me great service.
