I’m looking for a laptop that i can use for the regular microsoft works, internet, dvd burning…
I’m also a student if that helps. I don’t know which kind to buy? Which one is faster? I keep on hearing mixed ideas and experiences from lots of people.
Any ideas?

Dell has many varieties of laptops so does Toshiba. It depends on the model you get as to which one is better. The Satellite series are excellent if you go with toshiba.
Stay far away from the Vostro line from DELL, they are junk!
apple
toshiba. dell has tech support problems
Apple first off, but between that crap Dell.
Anything but Dell. HP is the best.
Apple sucks isn’t even one of the options. >.<
I’d recommend a Dell. Toshibas tend to have lots of odd problems.
I used to have a dell laptop and it was really slow right now im on a toshiba laptop and it is like so fast so i would say toshiba!!!
Brand doesn’t determine speed; the processor and amount of RAM determine how ‘fast’ your machine will respond.
Dell offers partnerships to most schools, and if you qualify, you would find another set of possible discounts.
Generally, I’d pick a Toshiba over a Dell. Dell’s high-end gaming laptops are nice, from what I’ve seen, but low-/medium-range laptops generally aren’t as impressive there vs. other companies like Toshiba, eMachines, etc.
