I've been very happy with iWork so far, though I've only used Pages and Numbers. Pages has a wonderful interface and handles MS Word docs very nicely (both opening them and saving to that format).

Numbers is a very nice program with some cool features that Excel lacks (such as the ability to have separate "tables" within a single worksheet) but to be honest Excel is probably a better program. Numbers has some issues when copy/pasting cells with formulas.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
