Win or Mac Laptop for college?

Hey! Can you please tell me whether it's any use buying a Mac over a Win PC laptop for a student about to start college in a Graduate course of Electrical & Electronics OR Computer Engineering?

I'll be mainly using it for preparing assignments, internet surfing and maybe playing games (not those demanding extremely high resources)

Oh yeah! I am comfortable with Win XP as such, have been using Windows for like 12 years i think.....but i am prepared to try Mac too! (+ i can use the Apple boot camp to run windows anyway)
Does Mac have any advantages? Does it make work any easier?

I understand it costs more...so consider only the models available at a price below , 00 or 00...

I am a Software Student.. I need to buy a laptop... asap... Guys I need help... I want a laptop which shud have all the good features wich a normal software student wud require like wud need a lot of memory storage coz I will be downloading lot of softwares like Java,Netbeans etc.. etc. SO pls mention any good laptop with good features & Configurations and on Average cost along wid the configurations... Not much expensive... Thanx...

Laptop? Router? Airport Card?

I just bought a used Apple Ibook laptop.. You can see it here:

The laptop does NOT come with an airport card.. Will this router work if I want to plug it into my already existing cable modem? I want wireless internet on the laptop.. Also, I think I need an apple airport card but they are expensive!! Anyone know where I can find the one that I need for cheap?? Thanks!

Apple MacBook, is this a good buy??

I am thinking about buying the Apple MacBook 13inch White 2.2GHz online for ,199.00. Here are some additional specs:

120GB hard drive1
Double-layer SuperDrive

Would you concider this a good buy? I used imac's in highschool but I own a Dell laptop. I am interested in the MacBook because of the fun things I can do with photos and videos.

What is your opinion? Should I opt to buy more Hard Drive space/Memory?

Going to buy a laptop from dell should I go with Inspiron or lattitude?

Also, what are my must haves? I am going to use mainly for college, I'll probably use for storing pics from camera & misc. Not a gamer though, so I'm thinking I'd like at fast processor, but I never know which is good enough because they give you so many options. Any ideas would be apprieciated! Thanks

Can you run Windows using a Apple laptop Macintosh OSX?

I have a Apple Macbook.not a pro.And i wanted to buy these computer games like Sims 2 or Roller coaster Tycoon which only runs on Windows.is there something you can download to get Windows instead & play these games?& run Window Movie Maker 2& Window softwares?

In addition,iMovie sucks to me.Whenever i make a amv or something.A 3 min. clip takes 2 GB.Which i cant fit in on youtube which my youtube account only allows you to upload 100mb videos.So i i use those online video editors onetruemedia.com that makes me do montages that takes less space.Im too jaded to go there.So is there a software I can download besides iMovie

Apple Macbook / Pro?

Hi, I'm planning to buy an apple laptop. Currently I'm using PC since many years & wanted to shift to Mac OS. The 13.3" Macbook screen making me to tend towards Macbook Pro since it has a 15.4" screen. But I liked the new sunken keyboard which Macbook has. Are u guys have any idea abt apple's consideration in changing Macbook Pro's keyboard too like Macbook has??

bought used laptop w/ windows 2000 prof. and can’t log on, any help?

Bought an older laptop,Dell latitude cpx, power supply not included but i had one. So i plugged in, and when windows 2000 professional started up it showed "administrator" as user & asked for a password. Which of course i don't have. Called the girl I bought it from and she said she didn't have a password either as she bought it off ebay w/ no battery / power supply. She said something about removing some kind of battery looking thing to reset it? Is there any way that I will be able to by-pass the password? reset it? or something? and if not will i be able to use this thing at all? or can i / will i HAVE to install a new version of windows or what?
I should have been more specific but honestly didn't know the difference between the two... system pass word and windows password.
anyways, the password i am being prompted for and don't have is for windows 2000 professional.
There's a sticker on the bottom of aptop that says"certificate of authenticity" and has a product key, but I don't know wat the password is.

What is the most affordable but best for photo/video editing Mac laptop?

Am looking at buying a Mac Laptop mainly because they are alot better to use for editing photos & videos etc, but am not sure which one would be best for my money! Am looking to spend no more than 00 (AUD) but of course would like to spend less if I could. Doesn't have to have the biggest harddrive as I already have my own.

For sometime now I have been thinking of purchasing an Apple laptop. However I'm not really sure what features to look for. I saw these two laptops:

I'd like to know what the main difference between the two is, which would I get ''more bang for my buck''? And would it be better to buy this laptop from Best Buy or apple.com, or Circuit City since there going out of business and would mark things down real cheap?

If I end up purchasing it from Best Buy, I'd use my 0 Best Buy card, and pay the rest either on the credit card or my debit card.

Never used a laptop before.. so really need help in buying one ..

I am mostly gonna use it for school work, download, burning ...and sometimes games..
