I am about to get a laptop i beleive and i was wondering what everyones opinions were on Apple Mac Book. Or laptops with windows? Do you get what you pay for with the Mac Book? I have always used windows and liked windows but the Mac Book looks like it would be a great laptop. Also has anyone bought a Apple laptop off a sute that buys used ones tests everything in them and resells for a lot cheaper? And does the standard Mac Book come with a built in camera for iChat? I used to be a huge sims fanatic until my PC crashed about 6 months ago. Ever since then, I’ve been using my mom’s laptop. She just bought me a new apple laptop and I’m so happy! I love it <3 She said I can load the sims2 on my new laptop, but I heard that they take-up too much memory and ruin laptops. I have sims2: nightlife, university, pets, o4b and seasons. I know that before I stopped playing, they made one just for laptops. Does anyone know which one(s) i should get??

so i was at the apple store and saw a little guitar icon at the bottom of all the laptops and computers. i am a musician myself so i decided to investigate. i clicked on it and i didnt understand what it was.

what can i do with garageband?

will it come with the computer or do i have to buy it and download it?

can only get it on an apple laptop?

can i like, add drums and bass to songs i recorded?

if i cant, what programs can i buy/download that will allow me to do that, and also edit songs i record?

also…
what equipment would i need to get a good recording of a song, like some equipment, mics, what? how much would it all cost? where do i get it?

and one last one…

i am 14 and get a laptop this summer for highschool next year. my mom says apple laptops suck and dont have the resources i need and and they are hard to use. what do you think of apple laptops?

My first laptop was a an old used Dell. Then I got a Brand New HP Pavialian this Christmas. I loved the laptop, I couldn’t say anything bad about it. Only problem is someone robbed my house an took the laptop, so now I’m looking into buying a new Laptop.
I was thinking of getting an Apple Laptop, Or a Sony laptop.

First of all I cant choose between Apple or Windows XP
I’m pretty good at computers an could adjust to Apple.
I just don’t know which was to go. An If I do choose Windows

My private high school requires every student buy an Apple laptop which has MAC OS X in it. However, I’m not used to using Mac OS, and I intend to install XP on the laptop.
So is that possible that I can use parallel window XP and Mac OS X on Apple laptop ?? (Obviously, those operating system will be on different partitions).

I haven’t received my laptop yet, but I just want to know for sure that I can do it.

Hi, I’m planning to buy an apple laptop. Currently I’m using PC since many years & wanted to shift to Mac OS. The 13.3" Macbook screen making me to tend towards Macbook Pro since it has a 15.4" screen. But I liked the new sunken keyboard which Macbook has. Are u guys have any idea abt apple’s consideration in changing Macbook Pro’s keyboard too like Macbook has??

I am looking to buy a new laptop. I’ve gone through three dell laptops, and they just don’t impress me that much. I kind of want to buy an Apple laptop, but I’ve never had one, so I’m not sure how the rank against other laptops, since they have a differnet operating system. Another one i was looking at is an HP, no particular system. I would use it for personal use and stuff, so any recommendations?

I’m not a computer person. My dad bought an apple computer a while ago and he doesn’t know how to use it and probably never will. I’ve slowly been learning how to use it. I asked my dad for the internet and he told me that if I learn how to use the laptop I can have it. He said that I can use the network from our house to get wireless internet on the laptop. I just don’t know how to do that. Can someone please walk me through the steps of getting wireless internet on my apple laptop using our home’s network? Keep in mind I’m not a computer person so…. layman’s terms please.

Im interested in buying an apple laptop but most of them come in 13" screen sizes. I’m using a 15.4" laptop right now with Vista and a lot of times I wish this screen were bigger so I can’t imagine shrinking a whole 2.4"! Yet Apple has a reputation for being a competent company…

I’ll be using the laptop for database design classes, programming classes, web design classes, microsoft excel, web browsing, and movies. Am I going to hate life if I buy a 13" laptop from Apple?

P.S. Yeah, I know they sell 15" and 17" models but I’m most interested in the macbook air which only comes in 13".

I was searching for a cheap apple laptop, because I am a high-school student and would like to have my own computer before I go off to college. I found the website gainsaver.com and found some very inexpensive ibooks on it. I was thinking of getting the iBook notebook 12.1" 700 MHz G3 Apple computer M8860LL/A. There are some upgrades you can get, of which I was thinking of getting the 120GB hard drive, 640MB memory, and installation of airport card. The total comes to 6.
So I was wondering.. First of all, is gainsaver.com a good website? Do you know if I would get a good, reliable computer from this website? Also, would this be a good computer for me period? I would probably install photoshop on the computer and maybe AOL, but probably not many other major programs. Of course I would have itunes and my 1000+ songs for my ipod touch. But I’m not using this computer for anything major.

I can’t afford a brand new Apple laptop so I want to buy a used one. But I’ve never owned one before and I want to use it for graphic design and video/music editing for school. So could somebody please help me out with what are the essential components I’ll need to do this. IE: Amount of Ram, processor speed, video card etc. Again, I don’t need the best of the best. Just a starter Apple. Used, refurbished anything like that. I Can’t spend over 1k and would prefer to get by with something half of ,000. But don’t know if thats even possible. But I don’t need the best. Just something that gets me by. And besides ebay, where would be a good place to look. Also, what programs/software are a must for graphic design/video editing and sound editing.
I WANT AN APPLE. You’re not going to dissuade me from getting an Apple. I want an Apple, I’m getting an Apple. So please, help me figure out what I need IN an Apple that best fits my needs.

For sometime now I have been thinking of purchasing an Apple laptop. However I’m not really sure what features to look for. I saw these two laptops:

I’d like to know what the main difference between the two is, which would I get ”more bang for my buck”? And would it be better to buy this laptop from Best Buy or apple.com, or Circuit City since there going out of business and would mark things down real cheap?

If I end up purchasing it from Best Buy, I’d use my 0 Best Buy card, and pay the rest either on the credit card or my debit card.

I’m looking forward to buy a used apple laptop for under 0. As a vivid windows user (that is what i have been using my whole life!), I rarely know about the apple os. For windows based computers, i know that it is cruicial to get the copy of the os and the product key for it.
