One of Dell’s important goals is to maximize the RE-USE or Recycling of all returned lease
products. Dell’s Services refurbishes and sells over 95% of all returned Lease systems into the
secondary market, after being restore to a good condition and make them new again.
The remaining 5% of returned lease product is sold for Parts or recyclable materials(all the
metal, glass, and plastic parts that haven’t being used).

Dell’s renovated equipment has been returned from customer leases. The company selects the
highest quality returning systems to go through a visual and technical renovation process prior
to making them available for sale to costumers. renovated computers are systems that are tested
to ensure quality standards to remain them on a no less then excellent level of workstations.
renovated products are diagnostically inspected to ensure they will function just as new.
Thea’s systems may have some observable cosmetic imperfections, but they will not affect the
performance of the products.

Thea’s Laptop systems have been renovated and subjected to the same testing as a new machine
would go through. They could be made out from previously ordered new but never been used or
sometimes they have scratches and dents, even if they are significant ones, the machine has
been rigorously rebuilt and tested to assure their perfect performance.
Its important to notice that the difference in buying a renovated used Dell laptop from Dell
rather than purchasing a Dell used laptop elsewhere, is that Dell’s extensive testing and
component replacement is backed by a one- to three-year warranty on the hardware and 21-day
return policy.

I find out that Amazon accept foreign credit card online payment.
Dell requires foreign credit card holder to call them to place an order.
And HP Home accept no foreign credit card at all.
Could anybody know any webside where I can use foreign credit card to buy a laptop online? Thanks.

I’m looking into buying a laptop for college use. I’m wondering which brand to buy, and it seems that it is down to Dell vs. Toshiba. I’ll be using it for college school work, music, and some photo editing. Which would you recommend?

I use my laptops mainly for DVD editing, and creating, music and photo editing. I am looking for something that can burn cds and dvds withen the laptop, and has software that I can create professional like dvds. I am looking to spend anywhere under 0, if possible. As I stated above, I know noting about Apple, and their laptops. Does editing software, Photoshop, Garage Band..etc. come on the laptops? Do you have to buy everything extra? Help! Thanks

I’m not buying a laptop quite yet…probably in about 6 months, but I figured I should do my research on them now, so the decision is easy later.

I’ve been using Windows on desktop PCs all my life, so I think I know what to expect from a Dell. However, I know very little about Macs. I know they are becoming very popular these days, largely thanks to their amazing TV commercials, but are the really that much better?

I’ll be using this laptop for university…so I’ll need the functions of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc). What are Mac’s comparable softwares, and are the just as good (or better?). And of course I need reliability…can’t have it suddenly crashing and dying just when I need it.

Also, is OSX hard to get used to for a lifetime Windows user?

might ask what, according to what dell has to offer, would fit me? basically a Laptop used for PC games, storage for school work and camera files, and affordable (800 and below, and if needed to, 1000)
Well, if there are any better suggestions and meet the requirements i have to find, would you mind finding it and linking it to me, so i may go on ahead and check it out on the site.
would explaining that the PC game im going for would be World of Warcraft, and would still be able to download atleast 1 more game haha, though i would totally be okay with just world of warcraft.

now as for work, i plan on doing homework for classes and also work on video clips in which i can possibly be able to download any video editing systems, so anything with storage I suppose
I have taken in consideration all of everyones ideas and am still looking for more details and what not. and feel free to send me other information =]

I recently bought new laptop from Dell and currently we have office network named ‘officenetwork’ runs on wireless router. We have four PC’s connected to this network. One is connected via wire, and rest three has wireless network.

Our wireless network is using MAC address filter to allow only known computers in area to connect with it. Our wireless router is connected with office server where all our daily working files are stored. So with wireless network ‘officenetwork’ we can access internet as well as can work with files.

But now problem here is that I do have MAC address of new laptop, but don’t know how to add it to wireless router to allow new laptop to connect it. I am trying to enter new laptops MAC address with currently connected PC’s to network, but no luck since last two days.

When I enter the IP address 192.168.2.1 in connected computers I can access my server, but do you have any idea how can i get access directly to my router which is connected to server.
So I can enter my new laptop’s MAC address and get connected with ‘officenetwork’.

One more thing, I can access my networks settings on server, but there is no option to add MAC address.

When I go to System option on my server there it says ‘to run system commands’. So does anyone know what system command can I run to add mac address. The system command application doesn’t looks like MS-DOS, it says that command will run as root user, so I think it’s Linux version of MS-DOS.

Yes I also know the MAC address of the wireless router, incase if you know that I can do anything with it.

Can anybody help me on this please.

But sorry for this long detail of my question, I couldn’t find any shorter way to explain it.

Please help me as soon as possible.

Thankyou.
I am sorry. The new router is provided by my server company, and it’s nameless, there is no make model number written on it.

After tuition and books, I have about 0 left over. Apparently the school sends the extra to me as a check once both tuition disbursements have been received. If I set the extra money aside for a few semesters, I’d have enough to buy one of the Dell mini laptops. Can I do this? I only ask because I signed the promissory note that said I wouldn’t spend it on things unrelated to school. I figure it’s school-related… Experiences?

Hi all,

I’ll be off to Uni at the end of Sept and would like to buy a laptop and take with me. After some research, I’ve decided on a Studio 15 (1555).

Does anyone (or even better somebody who works as Dell Sales Rep or used to) know when it’s a best time to buy? I read somewhere on the net that August/Sept is a pretty good time anyway coz they have these ‘back to school’ deals. Otherwise, I don’t really mind waiting until Oct/Nov if I have to. With Dell though, there seem to be always a ‘sale’ of some sort going…..

Do Dell sales reps have targets to meet? Are they daily or weekly monthly ones? When I call to get a quote with my desired specs, is that the best/fixed price? Do I have room to barter? And will they be more ‘keen’ to do so towards the end of their target dates?

Being a student my budget’s kind of tight so I’d appreciate some help to stretch my pennies as far as possible.

Thank you in advance.

I am struggling with the purchase of a new laptop. I am inclined to buy a Mac for greater security, ease of use, customer service, etc. but I can get so much more (RAM, hard drive, features, etc.)in a PC such as Dell, Toshiba, Sony, HP, etc. If there are any MAC lovers out there, please give me more reasons to buy one of the new laptops that just came out. Thanks!!!
I guess what I am really looking for is justification for spending twice as much on a Mac as I can for a PC.
