Would you concider this a good buy? I used imac’s in highschool but I own a Dell laptop. I am interested in the MacBook because of the fun things I can do with photos and videos.

What is your opinion? Should I opt to buy more Hard Drive space/Memory?

]]> My dad recently bought a dell laptop with the same spec as mine part from he has AMD Turion x2 2.0ghz i have AMD Sempron x2 1.80ghz. His laptop was shipped with VIsta Business mine was shipped with vista home basic. I like the features of business and i would like to be able to use his vista disk on my laptop. Both are dell. I know for a fact dell computers come with the serial included in the oem disk and a different serial on the COA on the back of the laptop. Is there anyway i can use his disk on my laptop?

]]> I’m planning on buying a new laptop in the next month since mine is dying on me and the panel is even getting cracked (we travelled a lot together). I’ve been really tempted to just buy a DELL laptop online; I’ve heard the quality of DELL laptops/computers has improved a lot and can now be fully trusted, is that true?

I’m looking for a laptop that is LIGHT but not too small…what I’ll basically do on it is surf the net, store my music, use Word and PowerPoint, so Microsoft Office basically and watch some videos. Any laptop brand with especially good battery life?

I do NOT want an ACER as they heat up oh-so fast.

]]> Hi, everyone. I am planning to purchase new laptop in the next few days or so and I thought it would be wise to hear from experts on which laptop to buy.
It will be my first laptop I will purchase as I have used desktop all my life. The laptop will be used for primarily writing reports/papers, researching/surfing online, chatting, listening to music, and watching movies. It will NOT be used for playing games.
So far after discussion with people I know, I am leaning toward Dell laptop. It is the most recognized laptop brand and a lot of people use it including my family. Someone suggested IBM laptop but I don’t know much about that one.
I know the final decision is up to me but I would appreciate any insights before I make the hefty investment. Could you recommend any good laptops that would be suitable for person like me?

]]> Well I’ve had a look around and these laptops seems to be very strong and they have good benchmarks, yet I don’t know if I should buy one or not becuz I’ve have some question about it and until they’re cleared, I think I wouldn’t be getting one.

1. I’m currently living in Kuwait, and becuz Dell don’t offer them here, a friend of mine will buy it for me from the US, and I’m afraid that cuz of voltage difference from place to place, it might ruin the motherboard or the power supply of the laptop

2. Is there anyway to change the power adapter to suit the power sockets here ? (the power sockets are like the ones in UK, 3 way and big and bulky)

3. I’ve heard that after two years or such with using a dell laptop, you get an error saying "AC adapter couldn’t be determined" or something similar, and the battery won’t charge anymore, and in the end your motherboard will be fried, has anyone got this problem before ?

4. Will the warranty work here ? (like if something happens to my laptop, can I go to the dell workshop here and repair it for free ?)
