Hello, I’ve got a Dell Dimension 2350 desktop and just bought a used Dell C640 laptop off eBay. I don’t know a whole lot about either one of them!LOL Could someone tell me the EASY way to get my addy book onto the "new" laptop? Please don’t use any "fancy" tech terms:) If a cable is or could be involved to hook them up together, please specify what type. One similar question I read, mentioned emailing it to myself?? The laptop does NOT come with an airport card.. Will this router work if I want to plug it into my already existing cable modem? I want wireless internet on the laptop.. Also, I think I need an apple airport card but they are expensive!! Anyone know where I can find the one that I need for cheap?? Thanks!

ok, at the moment I dont own a laptop. But I’m looking for one on eBay! Either an ibook Clamshell, (Just because they’re really cute) a PowerBook or a normal iBook G3. But someone told me that you cant work Windows XP on an Apple because they use their own system. But you can install Parallels or Bootcamp. All I need is a loooooooong description of what the difference is and which would be better to get. I also want to know whether it would be a good idea to buy an Apple? AND WHAT IN THE WORLD IS OS X 10.5 Leopard. If someone could answer this in the most polite fashion without telling me how dumb I am for not knowing what OS X 10.5 Leopard is!
Keep in mind that I dont have a limited supply of money and cant really afford a macbook pro seeing that here in Souht Africa, you take the price in America and times it by 7,68. (,000 in America, R15 360 in South Africa)

also, i already tried ebay and dell.co.uk and they all require credit cards with UK billing address.

well whatever the case is, either from Pakistan or abroad, but i will prefer US , want it to be shipped to pakistan to me.
Amazon dont ship to Pakistan, On Ebay Some ppl ships to pakistan but they accept paypal and Pakistani’s are not allowed to open an account in paypal.

Bought an older laptop,Dell latitude cpx, power supply not included but i had one. So i plugged in, and when windows 2000 professional started up it showed "administrator" as user & asked for a password. Which of course i don’t have. Called the girl I bought it from and she said she didn’t have a password either as she bought it off ebay w/ no battery / power supply. She said something about removing some kind of battery looking thing to reset it? Is there any way that I will be able to by-pass the password? reset it? or something? and if not will i be able to use this thing at all? or can i / will i HAVE to install a new version of windows or what?
I should have been more specific but honestly didn’t know the difference between the two… system pass word and windows password.
anyways, the password i am being prompted for and don’t have is for windows 2000 professional.
There’s a sticker on the bottom of aptop that says"certificate of authenticity" and has a product key, but I don’t know wat the password is.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that i got in april, it is practically new. 80 GB hard drive, 1 GB Ram, Intel Celron 550 Processor, 15.4" Wide/HD/No glare screen, Black finish, hd sound, 6 cell battery, ac adaptor, Windows Vista Premium, all manuals and disc(windows and dell driver disc).
No scratches, no flaws, no problems. I changed my major and I am going to need a more advanced computer that is capable of more things(video/sound editing, etc.)

1. How much money should i ask/expect for this laptop?
2. What are good places to sell the laptop to? (Yeah I know ebay..how much would a pawn shop offer? Any online stores that buy used laptops? Will Dell buy it back and sell as refurbished?)

I can’t afford a brand new Apple laptop so I want to buy a used one. But I’ve never owned one before and I want to use it for graphic design and video/music editing for school. So could somebody please help me out with what are the essential components I’ll need to do this. IE: Amount of Ram, processor speed, video card etc. Again, I don’t need the best of the best. Just a starter Apple. Used, refurbished anything like that. I Can’t spend over 1k and would prefer to get by with something half of ,000. But don’t know if thats even possible. But I don’t need the best. Just something that gets me by. And besides ebay, where would be a good place to look. Also, what programs/software are a must for graphic design/video editing and sound editing.
I WANT AN APPLE. You’re not going to dissuade me from getting an Apple. I want an Apple, I’m getting an Apple. So please, help me figure out what I need IN an Apple that best fits my needs.

Never used a laptop before.. so really need help in buying one ..

I am mostly gonna use it for school work, download, burning …and sometimes games..

Now my first concern is to which brand should i buy ?? …few good ones i heard of are : (not in any order) dell, toshiba, hp, sony …also apple macbook …now i have never used a mac before … so not sure how would it be for the first time ….but heard lots of good reviews about it …… and also one of my main concern is how mostly laptops now a days coming wid vista… and i didnt read any good reviews of vista and neither i used that before…. and i been using xp for long time … now one of the question is that if i buy a laptop wid vista.. whts the minimum configuration i should look for and can i go from vista to xp ?? …and also can i run both on one laptop like xp and vista….??… and also wheres the best place to buy a laptop from like wht u guys think of ebay ?? … also my bro is really interested in this laptop of dell XPS M5130 :
