I have used PCs all my life, but now I have decided to switch to Macs because I think they would work well with my kind of use. I have done my research and read about the different ones available, but I’m not sure which would work best for me. All of the PCs I have used have failed with me. I use my computer for many things. I need adequate battery life and a fast system that can handle multitasking with big graphics programs. I mainly use my computer for storing and editing pictures, listening to music, watching movies, editing movies, chatting, web surfing, graphics making, game playing, and maybe some other things. As you can see, I need a lot of space and also RAM, but I’m unsure which or how much would be best. If anyone familiar with Macs can help me, I’d really appreciate it. I’ll be going to college next fall, so I’ll need it for my major as well.

Please, if you are just going to try to change my mind about buying a Mac, then don’t answer. I know everyone has their opinion about PCs and Macs, but I’m not looking for opinions on both right now.

Also, not too expensive. Preferably ,500 US or under, but a bit more is okay. Just not something crazy, like ,700. I’m saving for college, so don’t want to spend too much.

I was thinking to buy a new laptop. I already have a laptop, which we use it with my brother so he takes it more than me.
I want to new things, and I thought why not buying an apple laptop, with MAC software. I think that is more fashionable(?) and attractive for the younger ages. I think to buy the classic MacBook: cheap, classic, fashionable, with the everything I need. BTW, Has it got wireless on it? I mean, have wireless internet with my wireless router.
I researched and I found that there is Windows Live Messenger and Microsoft Office for MAC(See down the source). And every other game or application I need is compatible with MAC.
I have the money. Will I buy it in a retail shop here or by eBay?
My birthday is coming next month, so I should tell to my parents give me my gift(money) now and not later. But, how I will convince them?
Which color I will buy?

I am looking to buy a new to laptop to DJ with. I currently have a Gateway with a 1.8Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM. The problem is that every once in a while, the computer will get frozen and skip whatever song, video, or game im playing like a scratched cd for like 30 seconds. This is unacceptable for live music performance. Would an Apple Powerbook G4 1.67Mhz with 512mb of ram be enough. I would max out the ram out once i got it. I found some online for 9. Would this setup be able to run most common dj programs. Im not looking to run any super-high-end music production software of any kind. Just DJ stuff. Thanks for any help…
