Hey! Can you please tell me whether it’s any use buying a Mac over a Win PC laptop for a student about to start college in a Graduate course of Electrical & Electronics OR Computer Engineering?

I’ll be mainly using it for preparing assignments, internet surfing and maybe playing games (not those demanding extremely high resources)

Oh yeah! I am comfortable with Win XP as such, have been using Windows for like 12 years i think…..but i am prepared to try Mac too! (+ i can use the Apple boot camp to run windows anyway)
Does Mac have any advantages? Does it make work any easier?

I understand it costs more…so consider only the models available at a price below , 00 or 00…

Please tell me what you think…Best answer if u convince me with your view!

I am buying the laptop for business use (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), lots of travel, as well as pleasure (digital photos, music, internet surfing). I travel about 20 weeks a year.

hey everyone im looking on ebay for refurbished apple laptops, and im wondering what specs should my minimum be. i will mostly only use this laptop for internet surfing.

theres some ibooks like 800 mhz 256 mb ram and 30 gb hdd for 0
1.07 ghz with 512 mb ram and 30 gb hdd for 0
or 1.33 ghz with 512 mb ram and 40 gb hdd for 0

these are just some options that i have seen on ebay. and this is the price range i would like to stay around, so keep that in mind and also keep in mind that i wont be using this computer for huge programs or multiple programs just mostly internet browsing.

well i do know what the standards are today, i just cannot afford those standards. so thats why im looking for older models which are way cheaper. and i went to the link but unfortunately all of those go way over my price range.
