I will soon be planning to buy a laptop, but I will be using it for school and college later on. Which is a better and a smarter choice, Apple or Windows?

I usually use the computer for Internet Search, Writing reports, essays, and other school work, etc. I also use it for storing pictures from my Digital Camera and iTunes as well. I currently have Windows XP in my P.C, yet have been having trouble with viruses, the computer freezes and is somewhat slow during the Internet search process. Yet compare to my school, they use Apple instead, and so far I like it.

I have a Dell laptop computer running Windows XP, and I am thinking of buying an Apple laptop if and when I buy a new computer (probably soon). What are the advantages and disadvantages? I know we will still be using Windows at work, and I frequently transfer files. Also, I have iTunes for Windows now, but I assume it will be a relatively simple matter to transfer/copy the song files, or otherwise "import" them into iTunes from an external hard drive.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks!

We just got an apple laptop and would like to use it for our itunes after our old computer crashed. Is there a way that we can change our ipod to be used with our apple?
