I used Adobe photoshop and Corel to do some graphic design on a PC in another country, I don’t have it anymore, now I want to buy a new computer and software and start learning how to use it with specific goals, A childrens book with my on illustrations (traditional media) scan them and enhance them electronically, I’m thinking on getting the newer g4 mac laptop 17" screen, but Im not sure If I would have to learn all the basics of using a computer don’t want to waste time but make it easier for me.

I have a Dell laptop computer running Windows XP, and I am thinking of buying an Apple laptop if and when I buy a new computer (probably soon). What are the advantages and disadvantages? I know we will still be using Windows at work, and I frequently transfer files. Also, I have iTunes for Windows now, but I assume it will be a relatively simple matter to transfer/copy the song files, or otherwise "import" them into iTunes from an external hard drive.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks!
