I’ve decided to buy a laptop, but haven’t decided on which system I should run. I know it depends a lot on what I plan to use it for, and windows is a lot more widely used than mac (especially with schoolwork). And I’m also aware that macs (at least the ones I’ve seen) cost quite a bit more than a windows computer. One of the most important things I’m taking into consideration is the amount of viruses out there for windows computers, as opposed to only one for Mac computers (so I’ve heard). I don’t need lots of fancy features, just basically something with a CD/DVD drive and USB ports. Your opinions and experience with either would be much appreciated, along with any advice you can offer. Thank you!

Auction website offering a Apple IBook g3 500MHZ, 10gb wii-fi, cd-rom 12.1. I know how to use a computer, not how to buy a used one. My 12 year old needs one for schoolwork, e-mail, stuff like that. Is this a decent one? What is a good offer?
That’s for the info. I’ll look for a newer computer!

I’m buying an Apple MacBook laptop. I’m planning on using it for schoolwork and music, and possibly for watching movies.
I won’t be using it for gaming or anything much more than writing papers, spending too much time on the internet *wink*, and rocking out to music.
Is there any software/hardware that I need to buy in addition to simply the laptop itself?
I don’t want to get roped into buying things I won’t use or don’t need, so – any advice would be quite welcome.
Thanks so much.
:)
