It was bought off a friend of mine and I contacted the rental company and they said that it wasn't under warranty anymore and they can't do anything for me. So I am stuck with a new Dell Laptop that I can't use.

If I buy an Apple Mac (laptop or desktop) from the USA, will the warranty still be honoured if it is going to be used in the United Kingdom? The reason being is that with the current exchange rate being so high, I can get a top of the range one for the same price as the bottom of the range one here in the UK, and seeing as I will be visiting New York very soon I may as well pick one up whilst I am there.
I know that UK power sockets provide more power than US plug sockets, thus I would need to get a converter, however I am just unaware of Apple's warranty policy with regards of buying in one country and using in another.
Any advice?

I was searching everywhere online for a company other than apple store itself that sells used mac's. Well I found a supposedly reputable company online that is experts at fixing laptops especially macs. They also sell them too. So after much research I decided to buy one from them for 9. I got it in September because they were running a good deal on this one and I wanted to buy it asap. I bought it for my boyfriends birthday which is in November. I turned it on when I got it..it worked fine.. I shut it down and never turned it on again. Come November...my boyfriend gets it hes so happy etc etc..now 1 week later it doesn't work..it boots up and doesn't even go to any screens or anything...my boyfriend didn't do anything to it..and this company's policy is only a 30 day return...i purchased it through Paypal and they only have a 30 day dispute period and my bank said its too late for them to do anything. The laptop has a 6 month warranty but I just want my money back. Any advice any1?

Well I've had a look around and these laptops seems to be very strong and they have good benchmarks, yet I don't know if I should buy one or not becuz I've have some question about it and until they're cleared, I think I wouldn't be getting one.

1. I'm currently living in Kuwait, and becuz Dell don't offer them here, a friend of mine will buy it for me from the US, and I'm afraid that cuz of voltage difference from place to place, it might ruin the motherboard or the power supply of the laptop

2. Is there anyway to change the power adapter to suit the power sockets here ? (the power sockets are like the ones in UK, 3 way and big and bulky)

3. I've heard that after two years or such with using a dell laptop, you get an error saying "AC adapter couldn't be determined" or something similar, and the battery won't charge anymore, and in the end your motherboard will be fried, has anyone got this problem before ?

4. Will the warranty work here ? (like if something happens to my laptop, can I go to the dell workshop here and repair it for free ?)

Also what about a referbished one without a warranty?

i have a dell inspiron 1501..only been 2 years i never messsed with it at all...i bought 3 ac adapters for charing it.....totally about and they were orignal DELL..then the battery messes up like.....when its charging it never shows fully charged...its always charging never done...sometimes the light doent light up on my laptop screen
Then a week a ago it just shuts down while i was using it.... it was charging too...and then when i turned it on theres the dell screen and then it says " WARNING unable to identify battery computer will not be able to charge" and guess what my waraanty expired... and the mean people at DELL wont even give advice or talk to me because i wont buy more warranty for 4/ year
i need to get this fixed my life is saved on this... please HELP and SHARE YOUR DELL ISSUES!!
i DISLIKES DELL say I>>> who agress

I bought a laptop from Dell two years ago without purchasing the extended warranty at the time. (Which means my warranty expired a year ago.) I now have some issues with my laptop and I talked to a third party technician who fixes Dell laptop. He said I can go onto Dell website and simply purchase the warranty and use it immediately. Has anyone done this before?
