I just bought a laptop. A used Apple Ibook. It does not come with an airport card, whatever that is, so i know i need to buy one. Can someone tell me how to get wireless internet on it? I have no clue what routers are or anything about them, so please break it down into baby steps. I have a desktop and have cable internet, but i want wireless internet on the laptop. How do I do that and about how much is it going to cost? Thanks
so the wireless router can hook up to the box that my cable internet is connected to?

PPC G3 366MHz
if that helps..

I'm not a computer person. My dad bought an apple computer a while ago and he doesn't know how to use it and probably never will. I've slowly been learning how to use it. I asked my dad for the internet and he told me that if I learn how to use the laptop I can have it. He said that I can use the network from our house to get wireless internet on the laptop. I just don't know how to do that. Can someone please walk me through the steps of getting wireless internet on my apple laptop using our home's network? Keep in mind I'm not a computer person so.... layman's terms please.

Hey...
I was thinking to buy a new laptop. I already have a laptop, which we use it with my brother so he takes it more than me.
I want to new things, and I thought why not buying an apple laptop, with MAC software. I think that is more fashionable(?) and attractive for the younger ages. I think to buy the classic MacBook: cheap, classic, fashionable, with the everything I need. BTW, Has it got wireless on it? I mean, have wireless internet with my wireless router.
I researched and I found that there is Windows Live Messenger and Microsoft Office for MAC(See down the source). And every other game or application I need is compatible with MAC.
I have the money. Will I buy it in a retail shop here or by eBay?
My birthday is coming next month, so I should tell to my parents give me my gift(money) now and not later. But, how I will convince them?
Which color I will buy?
Please, give me your opinion as soon as you can...
Thanks to all.

I am a student who will be using mt laptop primarily for school, but of coarse i will still want to go on MSN ans facebook on it.

can i hook my macbook up to our wireless internet
also, can i still go on msn on it?

i'm looking to get a macbook but i saw a vieo on the apple website an dit said you'll need one for an wifi network in your home. we have 3 PC coomputers in ur house, they all use wireless internet through netgear. do i need to buy somthing else to use the laptop wirless?? does netgear work with macbooks?

I have used Apple computers for years at work as a newspaper page designer. However, I've never owned one myself, so I've never paid that much attention to the specs.

My PC laptop is nearing the end of its life, and I was thinking about buying an Apple laptop to be able to more easily work on work projects at home.

The only things I can think of that I'd be looking to do on the laptop are wireless Internet (of course), Photoshop, InDesign and iMovie/iDVD. I don't do much else, except occasionally burn a CD, so I don't think I need a brand new or anywhere near top-of-the-line machine. In fact, the cheaper, the better. (I'm not against buying used or refurbished.)

Anyone with a lot more Apple-buying experience than me have any ideas or advice? Thanks!
