I am wanting to buy a laptop, just for general use such as putting my pictures/music/movies on.. and general functions.
It seems I can get a good laptop from Dell, but I am getting the vibe to get a macbook instead? Any suggestions either way?
Cheers.

MACBOOK.
- better security
- great programs for video editing
- fun
- fast
- totally worth every penny.
personally, i dont think macbooks are worth the money.
dell’s may not be the best brand, but if you’re just doing basic stuff on it, you don’t need a loaded laptop. i have a gateway and i love it.
(:
I would personally say go with a MacBook. It might be a lot more expensive than a Dell, but the hardware and software you get with it is remarkable. iLife is a great media production tool; I use it ALL the time!
If you’re worried about not being able to use Windows software, you can easily use BootCamp on a MacBook to install a Windows based operating system, which is amazingly cool, considering that you can now have to OS’s on your computer.
Overall? Buy a MacBook
.
Hope this helps!

At the lower end of the spectrum Dell would be cheaper, whihc is what you would really be looking at if you’re not looking at any serious gaming or cpu intensive stuff. At the higher end, the macbook is around the same price as a dell with the same features.

You should go with some PC. macs are useless. They crash more often than PC’s (yes, even more often than Vista) and are not reliable at all. Get a Windows or Linux machine.
Your requirements are cheaply met by Dell laptops. BUT if you require stylish, expensive and modern machine then go for Mac. A month ago I bought imac and threw away dell desktop, within a month I fell in love with this imac. I am absolutely loving with without any regrets of paying such a large money. Mac are way better than PCs and are user friendly and easy to use. Now I am in state, i’ll never recommend anyone to buy PC either they are professional or general user. Mac is the best and have best computing environment. Once you get Mac you will never look back.
