Your best bet is to get a Netbook. They start as low as $199 and are extremely light wight and the hotest trend right now.

You can buy a better than decent laptop from 300 to 400 bucks
with specs of Amd turion 64 X 2 1.9 dual core windows vista with 1 gig of ram and 160 gig hard drive .. Compaq pressario

You can get a netbook for 3-4 hundred. Asus makes some decent netbooks.

A netbook is a laptop without a CD rom drive and is smaller, usually 8-10" screen sizes. Your not going to get anywhere near a sony, or a fully functional Laptop in any brand for 2-3 hundred canadian.

However check out newegg.com for some decent prices.

The Asus eee PCs are nice, and pretty dependable. They have great ratings as well. I use one when I am out and about as a second laptop and I am happy with it.
