Which laptop should I buy – Dell XPS or Thinkpad T series or Toshiba or any other ?

I need a laptop purely for performance and no gaming or multimedia . I usually open lot of browsers and applications and don’t shut down the laptop . i install various ims, toolbars, applications etc. need a robost system.
I have used Dell and HP tx1000 . both failed in perfomrance after a yr or so.
am thinking of buying thinkpad t series now.
can u help ?

If you want to use it for internet purposes have you ever considered getting one of those small laptops for around $299, that were designed for just that purpose. But I would go with the HP
Get a Dell XPS, but MAKE SURE TO UPGRADE THE CPU!
If you do not do this, your system will lag a LOT.
also, upgrading RAM would be a good idea too.
don’t get a toshiba as they have complications with certain wireless routers
DellLlatitudes(specifically E6400) are in general built better than XPSs and offer similar hardware at the same price, but offer a much better warranty plans, 3 years standard. They’re about on-par with Thinkpads but cheaper than most of them.
