every Mac user will tell you the truth. hands down Mac OS X is simple, stable and superior.
Wait until october before you buy though because there is an updated Mac OS coming out.
A lot of people will say Windows without ever having really tried the apple OS. And they will say it so emphatically that it may make you believe they actually know what they are talking about, but they don’t.
I have been working on both platforms for the last 10 years. My first computer was a PC. Then I learned about Macs.
Most people use maybe 10% of the OS’s true potential. If you are one of these people, and you don’t want to spend a lot of your time learning about drivers, ports, hardware etc. And you dont’ want to deal with a lot of spyware, malware, adware or the various anti-whatever-ware programs that are out there, I would definitely choose a Mac.
But if you are a gaming junkie, or a tekkie, you may want Windoze. If you go that direction you might as well go ultimate tekkie and get Linux.
if you’re completely computer illiterate, apple is the way to go. everything they make is so overly simple, a drunken sleep-deprived monkey could use it. however, you often feel a lack of total control with macs if you truly know what you are doing.
windows is the most popular OS and for good reason. however if you do go with windows, dont get suckered into getting vista, because vista is worthless. go with XP home or profesional. if you dont know the difference between home or pro then it probably wont matter to you anyway.
windows is a middle road, user-friendly but not overly simplistic OS
as for linux…
id stay away. sure its probably the best OS but thats because you can control everything. its not recomended for novices because the sheer scope of it all is beyond the average user.
Mac is more user friendly.
The Mac OS is easier to use, and, despite a previous answer above, there is a lot of control (e.g. via Unix commands) but only if you want it.
While both operating systems have similar presentational features the Mac OS is much better for managing. By that I mean it is easier to install and uninstall programs, and files are more easily managed.
Most importantly, the Mac OS is more stable. I’ve had to restart my Mac Book Pro about twice – this year. Windows will give you much more trouble than that.

When you pay the apparently higher price up-front it should be considered an investment – less time wrestling with Windows problems or suspect hardware later.

While nothing is perfect, Apple users tend to be happier about their computers.

well most people will say windows, but for a good reason. 95% of the world uses windows. everything is windows, so whenever u need to use another person’s computer, guaranteed its windows. i have tried to use an apple before, but it was too hard, but then apple users tried to use windows and they say windows is too hard. i say, get uused to both, cuz if u are only used to one of them, the other would be too hard. and please, no one-sided opinions *ahem apple users*
